Crazy Love
Love is crazy…it makes people do things that they never thought they would do…it breaks the boundaries of ‘common sense’ and surpasses all of life itself!
Everyone loves a great love story…except we play them all out differently…but they end the same…The guy gets the girl…and happily ever after.
Guys love to be the super hero…we want to save the day…it’s our job!
I attended a high school of 1900 students from grade 8 to 12 - When I was in grade 8 (13 years old) I was walking to the local mall where I would usually catch the bus home and that’s when I saw her…
Yep…
THAT GIRL…
Her hair perfectly blowing in the wind, her eyes glistening in the afternoon sun…
And that’s when it dawned on me…If I could just save her life…I could get her attention!!! (remember the whole super hero thing)
So I imagined that we would be crossing the road and this BIG BAD BUS would come flying around the corner and THAT GIRL being distracted with her friends would step out without looking and I’d get there just in time and with my HUGE, muscular arms (I was 13 as if I had muscles haha) would grab her and jump past the bus and save her…she then would turn to me hair blowing in the wind, eyes glistening and would love me forever and forever.
THE END...(of my imaginary movie)
But I didn’t truly love her…why?
Because I was saving her to get her to love me…that doesn’t sound like love…not real love anyway…Not Gods kind of love.
Isn’t it funny how we can take such an honorable stand and be self sacrificing but be totally selfish at the same time…?
SO………
You and I were walking to through life and distracted by the things of the world and that BIG BAD BUS of death came toward us…and Jesus grabbed us in His HUGE, muscular arms and jumped through the path of death and safely lands us on the other side…but instead of expecting us to love Him, He simply looks at us and says that’s how much I LOVE YOU…what you do now is up to you…NO STRINGS ATTACHED!
Most assume in order to live a life with God it’s all about YOUR LOVE FOR GOD…but rather it’s all about HIS LOVE FOR YOU!
So there is this huge universe creating, planet breathing God that is crazy in love with you…and it’s not dependant on how much you love him…He just loves you, because He’s crazy about you!
‘For God is Love, in this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is Love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son (Jesus).’
1 John 4:8-10 (Emphasis added)
So wherever you are in life…maybe you’ve been waiting for someone to say that they’re proud of you, to see you through the eyes of love and not inconvenience, maybe you just want to feel accepted for who you are and not just what you can do.
God’s love goes far beyond your friends, relatives and parents…His love is unconditional, crazy and consuming –
all you have to do is receive it.
So start today…Just receive Gods love for you and live each day out of His CRAZY love for you.
